Being able to keep everything in one place is so important which is why so many people use 3 ring binders. Being able to have a reference you can take with you and refer back to no matter where you are is vital. For a friend of ours that has a home design business her binder is vital for her. It has to look professional so she has the front embossed with her logo and it has to be durable because it is packed with samples and ideas. She often refers to her binder as her brain because it is all in there. It holds a tremendous amount of information along with all types of scraps of samples. She is so use to carrying it that when we went to lunch one day she actually had remembered her binder but forgot her purse. She did not even need her binder to eat a sandwich but we did look through it since it was there.

It sounds ridiculous but for the longest time at my office we didn’t even have an internet connection! My boss was so cheap he didn’t want to get one – he seemed to think we could rely on faxing and the phone and all kind of other outdated technology but of course, that wasn’t really working out. I love that it took us months of talking to him to get him to reconsider but you know, he’s a bit older and he is really, really set in his ways and I knew it was going to be an uphill battle getting him to upgrade anything at the office. I love working her because I love the actual work and I love my colleagues but you know, at the end of the day I think it’s important to set boundaries and tell him when it’s okay and when it’s not okay to try and save money. I thought he’d get the picture after a while but we practically had to stage in an internet intervention!

This is the time of year that so many people are planning weddings. Summer weddings are really popular because of all the blooms and colors. We found a website that has hundreds of wedding ideas. There are very few things that can rival the grief of loosing a pet. When you have a pet that is lost there are things that you can do. The real surprised came when they realized their cat was a mere one street over from them. Somehow they had missed communication with the area that the new cat owner lived in. The cat was obviously happy and so was the lady that had taken her in that stormy night. She was actually never without a home since she took her in the same night she left. She is now an inside cat and has been for five years. Although she loved and recognized my sister and her family she returned to her owner to lay across her lap and flip upside down as if to say look what I found. They get holiday cards with their cats picture on the front and they are so happy that this story ended this way. Many times lost pets do not have such luck and owners spend many sleepless nights with worry for their loved pets. Services that help to find lost pets are vital.

We are big fans of the show Glee that we watch through directv Knoxville. Now when I say we my husband is not included. Now that I have gotten that clear…my daughters and I love the show Glee. The story lines are not always my favorite, but we really do love the music. They have a lot of talented singers on that show. One night we were watching Glee in my den, and my grandson who was just about 20 months old stood in front of the television like he was mesmerized. He just stood there for a long time paying close attention to the music and the singers. He is a really funny little kid. All of a sudden he just burst out in song with the singer who was singing at the time. One of my daughters grabbed her cell phone and took a video. He didn’t know the words but he was belting it out like he was one of the professionals making up his own words as he went along. He has always loved music and can pick out different instruments when he hears a song or instrumental. I can’t wait to see what he ends up doing when he grows up.

When the seasons change our lifestyles change a little as well. For many of us that means making little changes to give our homes a more updated feel. Something as simple a new coffee table can change a room entirely. Many times our coffee tables are the focal point of the room. You can go online and find many different styles and shapes of coffee tables so you can find one that fits the shape of your room. Some rooms call for a rectangle shape and others call for a more square shape depending on the room shape and the design of the furniture you already have. A coffee table is one thing that can totally change a room without having to do any type of work. I got DIRECTV for my wedding gift but even though I’m already married I can’t stop watching wedding shows. I really love the David Tutera shows because he really makes people’s dreams come true and I know that at the end of the day my wedding was perfect the way it was. I was the first of all my friends to get married so I guess I still watch because I know I’ve got a lot more weddings in my future and I’m trying to get as many ideas as I can while I’m still young because I’m sure I’ll be doing this kind of planning for a while. I think it’s fun being part of a big day and I love all the ways people personalize their weddings these days but you know, at the end of the day I want to make sure everyone I know has the best day they’ve ever had. I think it’s great that people are putting so much into their weddings and making that day special for themselves!
