How many times have you looked at your dog and tried to figure out what breeds of dogs he came from? Have you ever seen him do something such as herding and guessed that he must have some herding dog in him? Does he have peculiar habits that you can not understand? There is a way to help you answer so many questions that you may have about your best friend. You can have a dog breed dna test run on your dog and find our exactly what his breed history is and get many answers regarding behavior, potential sizes, coats and so much more. It is non-obtrusive because it only involves a mouth swab and you mail it off. We work with many dogs not to mention my own group and there have been so many times (with rescues more often then not) that we have to guess at the breeds. We usually lead with the bred that is most obvious and guess the rest. I am sure you have heard people called a dog a shepard mix or a lab mix. Those questions would be answered and you can better understand your dog and his behaviors. The best part of this to me is you can better deal with your dogs needs by knowing as much about him as you can. They not only tell you what breeds are involved but how prodominant each breed is with a percentage. This information could help you to watch for potential health problems or even curb off potential aggression issues. There are different breeds that you have to train with a different technique then others and this would help tremendously with that process. For instance all puppies play too rough from time to time but if you know you have a (typically) bully breed you have to stop the rough play much quicker and teach them to play nice! We all love our dogs and now we can find our more about the dogs we love!

There are many of us that have more than one dog. Just drive down any road near the farm land area that we live in and you will just about always see more than one dog maybe even three or more. Pit bull puppies are very popular in the area I live, you see them on every other street, most Pits are great dogs, some are little more aggressive than any other breeds. We have been very lucking when we have had newborns, the biggest concern was housebreaking puppy. Newspaper works well until they get older for their house training . If you do not like the mess of newspapers there is a new innovative indoor dog potty system to train you pup while they are in your home, and a lot less messy than newspaper and does not leak through. Outdoors is a easy to clean up by taking the dog potty and depositing it in the woods for the birds and other creatures of the forest. Puppies are like children some potty train faster than others, some breeds potty train quicker that other breeds. I am just glad when they become potty trained so as not to worry about mistakes indoors.

When you enter into the world of dog ownership then you have entered into a world that will be filled with fun and excitement and many moments of warmth. Nothing can get under your skin like a dog. They are your best friends no matter what. In their eyes you can do no wrong even if you yourself know you may could have done something better. Millions of pet owners already know this fact because so many spend so much money on the spoiling of our beloved pets. We want to reward our little four legged friends by showering them with little gifts. Many of the gifts you have to wonder are more for the owner then the pet. I can not imagine a dog wanting to wear costumes! Our canine friends also want to accompany us on any trip that we make and will be your exercise partner at any time they are invited. With all of this unwavering devotion comes the other side of ownership which is responsibility. The overseeing of their care can be a very expensive task as well as heartbreaking. Supplying the basic needs for a dog is easy. Giving them the proper vet care is easy. When it comes to the fact that our dogs do not live as long as we do and many times decisions have to be made on their behave it gets almost unbearable. How do you part with a friend that has been your mainstay for many years and know it was the right decision? The funny thing about pet owners is we know all of this information but would not want a life without our pets in it. The ups and downs, the happiness and sadness in the end we would not have it any other way!

Our Dogs.
Called Canis lupus familiaris.
Estimated to be 400 million dogs in the world.

Dogs are a domesticated sub-species of the wolf. A carnivorous animal. When you get bit you will know it. These creatures are members of the Canidae family of the order carnivora used for both feral and pet varieties. Everything I have read shows that the domesticated dog has been one of the most widely kept working and companion animals in human history. Saw somewhere there was even a Keeshound with the three wise men.

Our domestication of wolves, most think the gray wolf took place around 15,000 years ago somewhere in the central Asia region. Dogs quickly became everywhere across most cultures of the world. With the resulting domestication process, dogs have developed a sophisticated intelligence that includes unparalleled social cognition, along with a theory of mind that is important to their interaction with humans. Just love it when you come home and they wag there tails until they are silly. Their social skills have helped dogs to perform in protection of humans, hunting, animal herding and currently assisting handicapped individuals.
